Why BroccoBerry exists
It started with a question about my mum’s eye health. It became a much bigger conversation about how I want to live.

Interesting biology is a starting point. Human studies help us understand what it means in everyday life.
Berries and greens bring variety to a daily routine. Studies of isolated compounds can inform questions, but their results do not automatically apply to a smoothie. See a food-preparation study.
Fibre, fermentation and appetite signalling are connected areas of research. Human findings vary with the ingredient, the dose and the people studied. See a human trial.
My reading now extends to glucose regulation, appetite and emerging medicines. I’m exploring the evidence alongside my own food routine. My interest spans nutrition, vascular function and the mechanisms being investigated in medicine.

For readers of the book
Questions, shared learning and two smoothie demonstrations—all in the book companion.
The person behind BroccoBerry
My mum’s glaucoma led me to read more closely about nutrition and eye health. It also made me look at my own daily habits.
I now use a smoothie as part of my own approach to metabolic health. I’m interested in the science, but also in the practical question: can I build a routine I enjoy enough to keep?
BroccoBerry is where I share that learning—research, personal observations and the questions that remain open. I use AI tools to help explore and draft, with responsibility for what I publish resting with me.
